Lesson Plan

  • Explain the philosophy, importance, necessity and applications of the lesson to students.
  • Identify the cognitive and behavioral goals of each subject.

Educational content

  • Use happy colors, images and shapes in the design of slides
  • Summarize the slides and just put the keywords in the slides.
  • In the slides, use the image more than the text.
  • Provide slides to students in advance.
  • Refer students to the book.
  • Design the course content problem-oriented. To do this, turn the titles and titles of the educational content into questions.
  • Use related clips and videos in your educational content.
  • Express your personal experiences that are related to the subject of the lesson and give practical examples from everyday life related to the subject of the lesson.
  • Use the Internet and related software in the subject you teach. For example, to teach statistics, tell us how to work with SPSS software. Or encourage the student to use English to English dictionaries available on the Internet.

Holding and managing classes

  • Have an Ice Breaking or Warm-up in the first session. To do this, you can start the class with a joke, humor, short story, poem, etc.
  • In each session, have a review of the previous content so that the student knows the connection of this session with the previous sessions.
  • At the beginning of the class, motivate and create a lesson topic by asking a question.
  • Give students a break between classes.
  • Be serious about absences, delays and class order.
  • Sometimes play non-verbal music in class, for example, in the presence and absence.
  • Create a happy and attractive atmosphere and at the same time respectful and orderly in the classroom.
  • Start the class on time and at the end of the class and finish the voting on time and on time.

Art of expression and presentation

  • Change the tone of voice during class.
  • Do not move too much while teaching and do not shake your head and hands too much.
  • Do not shield or squat when talking.
  • Demonstrate some concepts with hand gestures.
  • Adjust your voice based on the number of contacts. (Sound area)
  • Inappropriate sounds are: scratchy, fluffy, too low and too low, fan and slow, vibrating, hoarse
  • Record your voice with different models with Recorder, then see which model is better.
  • Say the words completely and do not eat the letters, especially the final letters of the words
  • Do not convert short vowels to long vowels.
  • When speaking, increase and decrease the speed of speech based on the audience’s understanding and the level of ease or difficulty of the story.
  • Use short and simple sentences.
  • Pay attention to the tone of the word in the accents (even, if, but and …), the beginning of the sentences, the end of the sentences, etc.
  • Transmit concepts and feelings in the form of melodies.
  • The tone of your voice, suggestion, recommendation, etc. should be different.

Involve students

  • Teaching methods, topics and exams should be done by surveying students, of course, by providing specific and limited options
  • Dedicate part of the class work to student seminars and presentations.
  • Ask students questions by naming them.
  • After 4 sessions from the beginning of the class, a survey should be conducted, then we should read the comments in class and respond so that they feel that the survey has been seen and read.
  • If possible, appoint a teacher assistant for the class.
  • Use the methods of brainstorming, forced communication and fish bones to attract students’ creative participation.
  • Tolerate dissenting views.
  • Provide lesson content through question and answer and group discussion.
  • Assign some class work and homework as a team.

Educational evaluation

  • Specify how to evaluate the course at the beginning of the semester and inform the students.
  • Class questions, midterm exams and quizzes can be part of the course evaluation.
  • Take Home questions and assignments.
  • For some courses, use the Open Book test method.

Communication and interaction with students

  • Introduce yourself in the first session and express the expectations and behavioral and moral codes of the professor from the student and vice versa.
  • Consider the level of students high and tell them this expectation (Pygmalion effect)
  • Do not discriminate unfairly between students.
  • Listen to students well when speaking, presenting and responding.
  • Be patient, cheerful and open-minded in dealing and interacting with students.
  • Tell students how and when to contact and communicate with you (mobile, email, telegram, WhatsApp, etc.)

Impact on students

  • Try to identify and flourish the talents of students.
  • Try to create a sense of confidence in students.
  • Give students hope and motivation.
